Bradenton hiking

Spring is one of the best seasons for hiking, and that's especially true around the sister cities of Bradenton and Sarasota. No matter if you decide on Sarasota homes for sale or Bradenton homes for sale, you'll only be a quick journey away from some of Florida's best local and state parks.

Our real estate agents know that hiking is a marvelous way to stay fit and enjoy the great outdoors. Many local parks also allow you to bring your canine companions, so long as they are kept on a leash and picked up after.

Let's get familiar with just a few of the many hiking trails you can explore this spring:

  • Celery Fields – 6799 Palmer Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34240
    Celery Fields
is a 400+ acre site owned by Sarasota County. With a wide range of open marshlands, deep ponds, pools, and canals, it provides a full spectrum of hiking opportunities. The land is edged by beautiful oaks, pines, and willows and also includes two boardwalks. The boardwalk areas are ideal for birdwatching.

  • Myakka River State Park – 13208 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241
    Myakka River State Park
ranges across an incredible 37,000 acres, with countless hiking opportunities that run the gamut from beginner to advanced. The landscape is dotted with nearly 40 miles of paved trails, including a set of well-kept hiking and biking trails. This is an especially popular area for backcountry camping, too.

  • The Bay Park – 1055 Boulevard of the Arts, Sarasota, FL 34236
    The Bay Park
has been part of a revitalization project for several years now and is reopening triumphantly to the public. With 53 acres of newly paved trails, it is a central location for anyone who wants an enjoyable hike through an urban oasis right in the heart of Sarasota.

  • Legacy Trail – See Website for Location Information in Sarasota, FL
    Legacy Trail
runs a full fourteen miles between Sarasota, FL, and Venice, FL. It was recently completed with main use as a cycling trail. It follows the path of what used to be a railway, providing breathtaking views. Although it's most popular with cyclists, the paved pathway is wide enough for walking and running.

  • Oscar Scherer State Park – 1843 South Tamiami Trail, Osprey, FL 34229
    Oscar Scherer State Park
is one of the nicest state parks in Florida. If you follow the Legacy Trail, you will find yourself here. You can stick to the paved rail trail or continue your exploration of the unpaved areas within the park. There are plenty of scrubby flatlands that attract the popular Florida scrub jays.

  • Robinson Preserve - 11700 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton, FL 34209
Robinson Preserve offers a captivating blend of coastal beauty and vibrant Florida ecosystems. Visitors can wander through winding trails that traverse salt marshes, mangrove forests, and tidal ponds, spotting native birds and wildlife along the way. An observation tower provides sweeping views of the preserve's lush landscape and sparkling waters, while kayak launches invite paddlers to explore the network of channels at a leisurely pace.

  • Lemon Bay Park and Preserve – 570 Bay Park Boulevard, Englewood, FL 34223
    Lemon Bay Park and Preserve
is a nature park of more than 200 acres. It includes nearly two miles of shoreline on the Lemon Bay Aquatic Preserve. Many paths lead around the edge of the black mangrove forest, an iconic view that's unique to Florida. It's one of the best places in the area to view the sunset!
