Breweries to Visit for Oktoberfest in Sarasota

Forget Halloween. The holiday season officially kicks off with Oktoberfest, a lively celebration of beer, food, and music. The rise of craft beer has taken this event to a whole new level, as our real estate agents plan to visit these great breweries and events in and around Sarasota.

Are you ready to rock? For the third consecutive year, Sarasota Rocktoberfest brings Bavaria to the downtown area. Sample a variety of sausages, mustards, and German dishes such as Kasespatzel, or cheese noodles. Musical performances range from classic rock and country to blues and big band. The family- and pet-friendly festival features a marketplace of arts and crafts from local artisans. Dates and times are Friday, October 13, from 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.; Saturday, October 14 from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m.; Sunday, October 15 from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Admission is free for all guests.
Motorworks Brewing - 1014 9th St. W., Bradenton, FL 34205
The traditional German celebration takes on a truly global flair at Motorworks Brewing, right down the street from Bradenton homes for sale. Celtoberfest blends Bavarian and Celtic cultures for double the fun and entertainment. Bring Fido and the kids along to enjoy live music (including bagpipes), games, and food and drink specials. Festivities run from 4 p.m. on Friday, October 13, through 11 p.m. on Saturday, October 15. Tickets are $15-$45.
Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium - 1600 Ken Thompson Pkwy., Sarasota, FL 34236
If one craft brewery is good, how about a dozen? That's how many will be represented at Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium for Sharktoberfest, possibly the most unique fall celebration you'll ever see around Sarasota homes for sale. Local and regional breweries will be on hand serving their signature and seasonal brews as you take in the amazing sights of the aquarium. Live entertainment plus food and merchandise vendors add to the experience. The 21-and-over event takes place on Saturday, October 14, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is $55 and includes a commemorative tasting glass and branded gift bag. Attend a private VIP tasting along with the festival for $125.
Big Top Brewing Company - 2507 Lakewood Ranch Blvd., Bradenton, FL 34232
The name of Big Top Brewing Company is a tip of the cap to the Ringling Brothers legacy in the community near Lakewood Ranch homes for sale. As the first craft brewery in the area, Big Top also has a goal to incorporate the local arts culture by creating world-class beers. In addition to a rotating schedule of food trucks, the tasting room includes a Just Baked Smart Bistro kiosk. Hours are 2 p.m. - 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. Friday, noon - 11:00 p.m. Saturday, and noon - 8 p.m. Sunday.
3 Keys Brewing & Gastrobrew - 2505 Manatee Ave. E., Bradenton, FL 34208
The comfortable, family-friendly pub-style room at 3 Keys Brewing & Gastrobrew is a perfect place to gather with family and friends. Choose from a rotating selection of more than 20 beers, ciders, and seltzers. With items such as "Das Jaeger Schnitzel" and "Scheweinshank Redemption," the food menu has a distinctly German flavor. There's even a Herbivourish menu for vegetarians and vegans. Your precious pooch is welcome to join you in the beer garden or on the front patio. 3 Keys is open noon - 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon - 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon - 8 p.m. Sunday.
